Feel Confident in Your Long-Term Oral Health

Whether it's your first appointment or your 50th, we always focus on you. If you are a new patient, your checkup will include a full set of digital images. Our team will also have a conversation about your dental health and any existing concerns. Your dentist will take time to understand how things like jaw alignment, breathing patterns, and past dental work affect your health.

Here's what happens during a typical checkup:

  • Gentle Cleaning - Our hygienists will remove plaque and tartar buildup from your teeth. We'll also floss between your teeth, showing you our expert techniques. Then, we'll polish your tooth surfaces to give you a smooth-feeling smile.
  • Detailed Exam - We examine teeth, gums, and oral tissues to detect any problems in advance. Your dentist will also check for signs of breathing issues that can impact your sleep quality and overall health.
  • Personalized Tips - You'll leave with personalized advice to care for your smile at home. We will discuss any necessary follow-up treatments to address infections, damage, or airway-related concerns.

Whether you're coming in for preventive care or addressing specific concerns, our team will guide you with compassion and expertise. Your smile is just the beginning. Your routine hygiene visits are also a great time to talk to us about your smile goals, like straightening crooked teeth or making cosmetic improvements.

Read Why Our Patients Love Us

Jennifer was fantastic today. I had been neglectful with my dental hygiene. She had a lot of plaque to remove and she got it with a professional and gentle touch. Jennifer also took time to educate me on my future habits. Thanks Insight Dental!

From the receptionist at the front, Chloe, she’s always so patient with me to answer my insurance questions and get everybody scheduled. We absolutely love the dental hygienist and assistants- Jamie and Quitta are so fun and so patient with my kids. They’re very kind, friendly and professional. Dr. Johnson and Dr. Sheets are so kind, so professional and knowledgeable. We came from traumatic experiences at a prior dentist and they have been so good with each of my kids. I love that Dr. Johnson is airway focused, and supports expansion of the pallet and not just going straight to braces. We don’t use fluoride and they are supportive and never hassle us about it. Jamie the hygienist has even ordered us special toothpaste and polish without fluoride. I have four kids, three of them with Invisalign and we’ve had great success. My two-year-old was just seen today for his first happy gentle cleaning visit and the hygienist, Lasagna could not have been more perfect with him! Truly this is been the best dental experiences we have had over the last two years.

Hands down, the best customer service and expeditious appointments. I never wait. Jennifer did a great job on my cleaning. She was very knowledgeable of the trade and made suggestions for me to dry bush. Who would have ever thought but it makes since and should help between my cleanings.

Common Questions About Dental Cleanings and Exams

How often should I get dental cleanings and exams?

Most patients benefit from dental cleanings and exams every six months. Your dentist may recommend more frequent visits if you have gum disease, a history of cavities, or other oral health concerns. These regular appointments help us catch small issues before they become painful or expensive to treat. Your personalized schedule will be based on your specific oral health needs and history.

What happens if I haven't been to the dentist in years?

Dental visits can be delayed for many reasons, and we promise not to lecture you. Your initial checkup will include a thorough but gentle cleaning and a comprehensive exam to assess your current oral health. We'll take digital images to help identify any hidden issues and create a comfortable treatment plan to address your needs. You'll find our approach supportive and focused on moving forward, not looking back.

How can I maintain my oral health between dental visits?

Maintaining good oral health between visits starts with brushing twice daily and flossing once a day. You should use a soft-bristled toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste for the best results. Drinking plenty of water and limiting sugary snacks and drinks will help prevent cavities and keep your smile bright. We'll provide personalized recommendations during your visit, including specific techniques or products that would benefit your unique oral health needs.
